Easter Sunday at BridgePoint Church
Join us Easter Sunday (April 4th) at 11am at BridgePoint Church for our Easter Sunday service! We’d love to have you and your whole family visit with us for what will be a wonderful time celebrating the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ!
We have something for the whole family, and all are welcome! We encourage our guests and attenders to dress as they are comfortable. If you prefer jeans and a t-shirt, rock on! If you are more content in a suit and tie or a nice dress, that’s cool too! Come as you are!
This year we will be doing our Easter service Drive-In Style! (Weather Permitting) Join us starting at 10:15 as you drive around the back of the building pick up a delicious breakfast to enjoy before the service starts. Then if you want you may stay in your car, sit on a tailgate, or bring chairs to sit in the grass and get ready to Worship our Risen Savior!
Good Friday / Tenebrae Service
On Good Friday (April 3rd) at 6:30pm, we will be having a Tenebrae Service. Tenebrae is a latin word that literally means “darkness.”
The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian Good Friday service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of that week from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus’ burial.
This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus’ death and of hopelessness in the world without God. The service concludes in darkness, sometimes with a final candle, the Christ candle, carried out of the sanctuary, symbolizing the death of Jesus. A loud noise may also sound symbolizing the closing of Jesus’ tomb. The worshipers then leave in silence to ponder the impact of Christ’s death and await the coming Resurrection.
